Andrea Arroyo, Deputy Director, joined Urban Recipe after 15 years as a manager, strategist and advocate in the education and economic development sectors. She began her career in public education as a 2nd grade teacher, and has a strong commitment to children and fostering community. Andrea is responsible for the day-to-day management of Urban Recipe’s operations, programs, and development. She enjoys removing barriers and overcoming challenges. She is drawn to the positive and direct impact Urban Recipe’s food co-ops have on the lives of seniors, families and children. Most evenings you can find her taking a walk with her husband and their dog, “Oliver”. She loves going to concerts, watching movies and cooking for friends. Andrea has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Studies and Sociology from Pitzer College and a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Southern California.
