Fresh Veggies From The Farm

 In Community Partners

Wondering where our fresh veggies come from? One of our partners fro produce is the Paideia School Urban Agriculture program, which in turn is a partner with the Grassroots Growers Alliance, a collection of small, non-profit, urban farmlets and farmers who grow food in small plots of land throughout the city. Together, these farms grew and distributed over 5000 pounds of food in 2019 for food insecure families.

Each week, Paideia Ag kindly sends us all kinds of wonderful things from the farms: small tomato plants, beans, squash, zucchini and sun flower plants. We are ever so grateful for the work they do and the amazing plants they produce.

Our photographer, Kate Byars, popped out to the farmlet at Thomasville Heights Elementary, where the farm team was harvesting the week’s vegetables and fruits. We are seriously impressed by the amazing variety and delicious colors!

A big thanks to Paideia Ag, Thomasville Heights and the Grassroots Growers Alliance for all the tilling and cultivating. Your hard work is feeding people!
