Our Impact

1 in 7 people in Georgia go without sufficient food regularly. 10% of seniors and almost 20% of children do not have enough food to eat. Through our Food Co-ops and Mobile Pantry, we strive to reduce those numbers, focusing on not only feeding families, but providing a community to support them in stability.*

We are proud of what we’ve accomplished alongside our partners and community — working together to build the recipe for food security.

For 35 years, our impact has continued to grow!

I feel like I can do anything! I’m a better person now.

The greatest impact we see through our work is in the lives of our co-op members. Urban Recipe is a unique food model, walking alongside members often for years at a time, filling their pantries, and supporting their overall wellbeing.

Ethel is a long-time co-op member, receiving food and participating in the South Atlanta Food Co-op, hosted by Focused Community Strategies, for 14 years. Her lifestyle, confidence, leadership skills, and stability have increased through her experience. Hear more in her own words.
